Ibby started riding before she could walk and before ponies she was riding cows ans sheep on her mothers pedigree sheep farm in the grampians hills of Scotland.

Her competitive career began as a member of the Strathearn Pony Club who she represented in all disciplines upto Championship level. Following this Ibby did Pony Trials that led on to Junior Trials in later years.

A good year in 1999 saw her coming 2nd at the National Championships at Windsor and as a consequence she was selected to be a member of the British Junior Team in Vittel the year where she was 1 frustrating point from winning the bronze medal.

The next year she was part of the gold medal winning junior team in Pratoni del Vivaro, Italy. Onto Young Rider years and Golden Needle was the partner who Ibby had brought on from Pre-Novice to Advanced throughout the seasons.

After finishing in 9th and one of only two to finish on their dressage score that year, Golden Needle was selected for the final trial, after a great run in the advanced at Thirlestane, but damaged herself and could not take part.

Ibby took some time between 2002 and 2004 to rebase herself further south and get some training whilst competing various horses, schooling horses and earning money teaching. She also took the opportunity to spend some time doing some show-jumping training with Ian Silitch in Ocala, Florida.

The perfect opportunity became available for the 2004 season working as yard rider for William Fox-Pitt spending time working the advanced horses in Williams absence and bringing on as well as competing some of the young horses. Ibby established herself as a very capable part of the back-up team and was given the opportunity in 2007 to have 2 stables in the yard to compete her own horses from.

After a really successful season in 2008 culminating in 22nd place at Blenheim CCI*** Ibby has moved into her own yard and is looking to establish herself on her own two feet.
